EU Officials Decry US Action as ‘Intimidation’

European leaders including Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the visa restrictions targeted figures who have been central to campaigns to introduce laws regulating US-based technology firms.

“For too long, European activists have spearheaded organised efforts to coerce American platforms to suppress American viewpoints they disagree with,” stated the US secretary of state online. “This government will not stand for such actions of extraterritorial censorship.”
