Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
